Bybit Calculator allows traders to use available account/position information (position margin, leverage, average entry/exit price and contract quantity) to calculate Profit/Loss, Target price, and Liquidation Price. This allows traders to better understand their trading goals and also manage their position better.
Instructions:
Step 1: Locate Bybit Calculator on the top right of the Order Zone:
Step 2: Using the Calculator, you may select for calculations either
(1) Profit/Loss
(2) Target Price
(3) Liquidation Price
* Note that trading fees and funding fees are not included in the calculations
Example 1
Profit/Loss calculation: Calculating position profit and loss (excluding fees)
Traders can calculate the Margin, Profit/Loss, Profit/Loss% and Return of Investment (ROI) by entering the leverage, contract quantity, entry price and exit price.
Margin: The required order cost when opening position
Profit/Loss: Profit and loss of the position that excludes fees
Formula: Quantity of contracts (1/entry price - 1/exit price)
Profit/Loss%: Percentage of profit compared to the initial value of the position
Formula: (P&L/Open value) * 100% Open value: Quantity of contracts/Entry price
Return of Investment (ROI): Ratio of return on assets to initial margin used in the position
Formula: P&L / Initial Margin
Traders can enter the following value to calculate the required Margin, Profit/Loss, Profit/Loss% and Return of Investment (ROI)
Example: Buy Long, Leverage: 10 x, Qty: 200, Entry Price: $7,000, and Close Price: $8,000
For convenience's sake, traders can also see the size of the position and entry price for the current contract type.
Example 2
Target Price: Calculate the target price when the position reaches the specified rate of ROI % (excluding fees)
Example: Buy Long, 5 x, Qty: 10,000, Entry Price: $7,000, ROI %: 20
Entering the value above, we can calculate that for the position to reach a 20% ROI , the targeted take profit/exit price has to be set at around 7292 USD.
Similarly, traders can refer to the bottom part of the calculator window for the size of the position and entry price for the current open position.
Example 3.1
Liquidation Price (Isolated Margin): Calculating the liquidation price while being on isolated margin mode
Example: Buy Long, Leverage: 10 x, Qty: 1000, Entry Price: $7,000
Entering the set of value in the calculator below shows the Liquidation Price as $6392.69
Example 3.2
Liquidation Price (Cross Margin): Calculating the liquidation price while being on cross margin mode. Under Cross Margin mode, the entirety of the account available margin is used to calculate liquidation price. Traders do not have to enter leverage (by default using the highest possible leverage), and instead requires to enter the account's available balance in that coin type for calculation
Example: Buy long, Available Balance: 0.1, Qty: 1000, Entry Price: $7,000
Entering the set of value in the calculator below shows the Liquidation Price as $4,132.89
